Tashkent, July 23, 2026 — The national airline Uzbekistan Airways and the leading Chinese air carrier China Southern Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement. The airlines are becoming direct partners on a number of routes: passengers will be able to purchase tickets for the flights of both carriers through preferred booking services, which will make the planning of journeys between the countries much simpler.

Now a wider choice of flights is available to passengers. The agreement extends to the flights of Uzbekistan Airways from Tashkent to Beijing (Daxing Airport), Guangzhou, Urumqi, and Hangzhou. In addition, passengers will be able to purchase tickets for the flights of China Southern Airlines from Beijing (Daxing), Guangzhou, and Urumqi to Tashkent directly with the national carrier of Uzbekistan.

First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, JSC Umid Khusanov noted:
"China is one of our key markets. In May this year, we launched our new Tashkent–Guangzhou service, and the response has already exceeded our expectations. We are seeing strong passenger demand and steady growth across this route, as well as on our services to Beijing, Urumqi and Hangzhou. Our partnership with China Southern Airlines marks another important step in strengthening our presence in the Asian market, while giving passengers greater choice, enhanced connectivity and more convenient travel planning between Uzbekistan and China".

Deputy Director General of the Commercial Steering Committee of China Southern Airlines Zhang Dongsheng emphasized:

Expanding its presence in Asia, Uzbekistan Airways continues to actively develop the hub at the international airport of Tashkent. Convenient connections and a high level of service on board are offered by the airline. Operating regular flights to the key cities of China, the airline connects Europe and the East through Central Asia, making flights accessible and comfortable. The unification of the route networks of the two leading air carriers of their countries will assist the development of tourism, as well as the strengthening of business and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and China.
