Today, July 10, 2025, a seminar on the topic “Transparency and Accountability: The Inevitability of Punishment for Corruption” was held in the conference hall of Uzbekistan Airways JSC.

The speakers at the event were Svetlana Boymirzaevna Artikova, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Sherzod Tairovich Mamajanov, Tashkent Aviation Transport Prosecutor.

During the seminar, participants were given a detailed explanation of the current aspects of preventing and combating corruption in the aviation sector. Particular attention was paid to the development of an anti-corruption culture within the airline.

Svetlana Artikova conducted the seminar in an open and accessible format. In her speech, she spoke inspiringly about her personal journey towards forming a principled rejection of corruption and emphasized the importance of fostering internal intolerance towards manifestations of dishonesty, self-interest, and abuse of office at any level. The speaker also answered relevant questions from company specialists regarding the real problems and challenges that employees face in their daily activities.

Following the discussion, based on the initiatives and proposals of Uzbekistan Airways JSC employees, Svetlana Artikova initiated work on the preparation of relevant legislative acts. This is an important step towards creating a more transparent and secure legal environment not only in civil aviation, but also in other areas of business and government activity where systemic legal vulnerabilities need to be eliminated.

Svetlana Artikova's speech was entitled “Honest Flight: Preventing Corruption in Airlines” and was well received by employees.

The seminar was continued by Sherzod Mamajanov, who highlighted the issue of corruption risks in the industry. He noted that in recent years, there has not been a single case of corruption at Uzbekistan Airways JSC, which testifies to the high effectiveness of the preventive work carried out within the company.

The event took the form of a lively dialogue, in which company employees actively participated, making valuable suggestions for improving anti-corruption legislation. The participants discussed the subtle aspects of production activities where corruption risks could potentially arise and ways to eliminate them.

At the end of the seminar, Uzbekistan Airways employees who had completed the training and successfully passed the exams on the international standard ISO 37001:2025 were awarded certificates. The award ceremony was conducted by Marat Khabibullin, Director of CERT Academy.

The seminar was another step towards strengthening the principles of zero tolerance for corruption, raising employee awareness of the law, and ensuring the inevitability of punishment for corruption offences in the aviation industry.
