A number of Russian tabloid outlets published unverified information alleging that the crew of Uzbekistan Airways had violated altitude assignment regulations while operating a flight on the Samarkand – Moscow (Vnukovo) route. This information was subsequently reprinted by certain media in Uzbekistan without proper verification, which misled readers and created a false impression of the situation.
Uzbekistan Airways officially states:
• During the flight within the Moscow air hub zone, the crew of the Uzbekistan Airways aircraft strictly followed the instructions of the air traffic control service.
• All assigned flight levels were maintained in accordance with established rules and procedures, and the required separation between aircraft was observed.
• The flight in question took place on 28.09.2025, not on 29.09.2025, as was incorrectly reported by some sources.
• No activation of the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) occurred.
• No remarks or claims were received from the Moscow air hub air traffic control service regarding the crew’s conduct.
Uzbekistan Airways emphasizes that flight safety is our absolute priority, and the company’s crews strictly comply with all international aviation standards and the instructions of air traffic control authorities.
