Ahead of the International Day of Families, the “Ibratli Oila” (“Exemplary Family”) honorary badge was awarded across the country in accordance with Resolution No. 437 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 2, 2023. Among the recipients is the family of a Uzbekistan Airways employee.

The honorary award was presented to Zoid Kurganov, Deputy Commander of Flight Unit No. 1 (Boeing 787) of the Flight Operations Department, and his wife, Shakhnoza Kurganova. Along with the badge, the family was also presented with a special plaque placed at the entrance of their home as a symbol of respect, recognition, and the state’s special trust.

The award was presented to the family by Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the government and the President for recognizing the work of our employees and their families with such high honors. It is especially important that today significant attention is being paid to strengthening family values, respect for parents, continuity between generations, and support for exemplary families. I am confident that this is only the beginning of even greater achievements,” emphasized Shukhrat Shavkatovich.

For the Kurganov family, aviation is more than just a profession – it is a family tradition passed down from generation to generation. Zoid’s father, Sodik Juraevich, served as a Tu-154 aircraft captain, while his younger brothers, Rustam and Zokhid, continue the aviation dynasty today as a Boeing 787 Dreamliner captain and first officer.

The “Ibratli Oila” badge is awarded to families who inspire others through their example, carefully preserve traditions, raise a worthy generation, and help strengthen the role of the family in society.

At Uzbekistan Airways, special attention is given to supporting professional dynasties and continuity between generations – values that remain an important part of the airline’s corporate culture.
