Starting June 30, 2025, foreign citizens arriving in Russia under a visa-free regime will be able to pre-register online using the RuID mobile app, which can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play, and App Gallery.
The application must be submitted no later than 72 hours before entering Russia. Upon completion, you will receive a QR code, which must be presented when crossing the border. In urgent cases (illness or death of a close relative), the application can be submitted at least 4 hours before arrival. Such circumstances must be confirmed by documents – medical certificates, testimonials, etc.
To register, you will need to:
• create a personal account in the app;
• upload a photo and personal data;
• specify the expected dates of stay.
For children aged 6 to 18, registration is carried out by a parent or guardian.
Only the following are exempt from registration: citizens of Belarus, children under 6 years of age, visa holders, as well as holders of a residence permit or temporary residence permit in the Russian Federation.
It is important to note that participation in the RuID system is voluntary and is being carried out as part of a pilot project. The absence of a QR code is not a reason for refusal of entry and does not affect border control. However, when filling out an application through RuID, foreigners are given a number of advantages:
• the ability to check entry restrictions in advance;
• automatic registration of a SNILS;
• creation of a digital profile for receiving Russian public services.
Stay up to date with the latest information and prepare for your trip in advance for greater convenience and comfort while traveling.
