Uzbekistan imposes travel restrictions on Turkey and India

By the decision of the Special republican commission for the fight against coronavirus, travel restrictions to Turkey and India will be imposed from May 10 until the epidemiological situation in these countries stabilizes. This was reported by the press-service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

Restrictive measures were taken in view of the sharp deterioration in the situation with the spread of COVID-19 in these two countries and on the basis of proposals from the relevant departments.

In accordance with the decision of the Special republican commission on fighting against coronavirus COVID-19, “Uzbekistan Airways” JSC is forced to cancel the following flights to Istanbul and Delhi:

  • flights HY 271/272 Tashkent-Istanbul/Istanbul-Tashkent 26 and 31 May 2021 year;
  • flights HY 273/274, Tashkent-Istanbul/Istanbul-Tashkent, only flights on days 2, 4 and 5 of the week from 18 to 31 May 2021year;
  • flights HY 275/276, Samarkand-Istanbul/Istanbul-Samarkand, from 17 to 31 May 2021 year;
  • flights HY 271/272, Tashkent-Istanbul/Istanbul-Tashkent , only 26 and 31 May 2021 year;
  • flights HY 273/274, Tashkent-Istanbul/Istanbul-Tashkent ,only flights on days 2, 4 and 5 of the week from 18 to 31 May 2021year;
  • flights HY 275/276, Samarkand-Istanbul/Istanbul-Samarkand , from 17 to 31 May 2021 year;
  • flights HY 277/278, Fergana-Istanbul / Istanbul- Fergana, from 19 to 31 May 2021 year;
  • flights HY 279/280, Urgench-Istanbul/ Istanbul- Urgench, only 23 and 30 May 2021 year;
  • flights HY 421/422, Tashkent - Delhi / Delhi - Tashkent, only 14, 21 and 28 May 2021 year;

From May 10, only the following categories of citizens will be able to get to Turkey and India from Uzbekistan:

  • citizens and stateless persons visiting these countries on business trips;
  • students studying abroad;
  • diplomats and their family members;
  • citizens and stateless persons carrying out activities abroad;
  • specialists brought to Uzbekistan in the framework of investment projects;
  • transit and transfer passengers;
  • citizens and stateless persons serving for treatment (upon presentation of the relevant documents).

Air tickets for business trips will be sold only with the permission of the special commission, for other categories of citizens - on the basis of supporting documents.

Documents must be checked by airport staff during check-in.
