Information on Customs Regulations for Individuals
When crossing the customs border of the Republic of Uzbekistan, air passengers must fill out a passenger customs declaration, samples of which are available at all airports in the republic.
Guests arriving in Uzbekistan, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as foreign citizens and stateless persons with permanent residence in the Republic of Uzbekistan, have the right to import into the country:
- Cash foreign currency in unlimited quantities, with mandatory written declaration in the passenger customs declaration. Upon request, cash foreign currency can be accepted for storage against receipt TS-21, with no fee charged.
- Consumer goods for personal use: a) Without customs duties (duty, VAT), up to the value of: * 10 (ten) US dollars – for goods imported from neighboring countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan). * 1000 (one thousand) US dollars – for goods imported from other countries. b) Without excise tax, in the following quantities*:
- Note: The above norms for goods not subject to excise tax do not apply to goods imported from neighboring countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan).
Declaration of goods for non-commercial purposes, the value and quantity of which do not exceed the duty-free import norms and the norms for goods not subject to excise tax, is carried out verbally.

Goods for non-commercial purposes, the value and quantity of which exceed the duty-free import norms and the norms for goods not subject to excise tax, are declared in writing in the passenger customs declaration.
Goods for non-commercial purposes, transported by individuals in hand luggage and accompanied baggage, the value and (or) quantity of which exceeds the duty-free import norms and the norms for goods not subject to excise tax, are subject to customs payments on the part of such excess.
- Medicinal products in an amount of up to 10 different medicinal preparations and no more than 5 packages of each medicinal product; Medical devices in an amount of no more than 5 units. In this case, one package must contain:
- For solid (tablets, dragees, granules, powders, capsules) dosage forms – no more than 100 units.
- For powders used for solution preparation – no more than 500 g.
- For homeopathic medicinal products in the form of granules – no more than 50 g.
- For infusion solutions and solutions taken orally – no more than 500 ml.
- Injection solutions – no more than 10 ampoules or no more than 10 vials.
- For external medicines – no more than 200 ml or 200 g. Medicinal products and medical devices must be in the manufacturer's packaging.
It is prohibited to import into the Republic of Uzbekistan: a) Narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors (except in cases provided for by law). b) Printed materials, manuscripts, clichés, paintings, photographs, photographic films, negatives, cinema, video and audio products, phonograms, sound recordings aimed at undermining the state and public order, violating territorial integrity, political independence and state sovereignty, at promoting war, terrorism, violence, nationalism and religious intolerance, racism and its types (anti-Semitism, fascism), as well as materials of pornographic content. c) Portable laser emitters. d) Explosives and explosive devices. e) Unmanned aerial vehicles.
Import into the Republic of Uzbekistan of weapons, ammunition ; objects of animal and plant world ; radio-electronic means and high-frequency devices ; cultural values (paintings, sculptural works, products of traditional folk artistic crafts, etc.) is permitted with appropriate permits from authorized bodies and with their mandatory indication in the passenger customs declaration.
Export of cash foreign currency from the Republic of Uzbekistan is permitted: a) To citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as foreign citizens and stateless persons with permanent residence in the Republic of Uzbekistan: * Within the amount equivalent to 2000 (two thousand) US dollars without obtaining a permit. * Exceeding the amount equivalent to 2000 (two thousand) US dollars – with the permission of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan or authorized banks. * Exceeding the amount equivalent to 5000 (five thousand) US dollars – with the permission of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan. b) To other foreign citizens, as well as citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan who do not have permanent residence in the Republic of Uzbekistan – within the amount imported into the republic in accordance with the passenger customs declaration.
Export of cash foreign currency exceeding the amounts indicated in the customs declaration upon entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan is permitted with the permission of the Central Bank or authorized banks.
It is prohibited to export from the Republic of Uzbekistan: a) Narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors (except in cases provided for by law). b) Grain (wheat, oats, barley, rice, corn, buckwheat); bakery products (flour confectionery, pies, except homemade baked goods); flour, cereals. c) Domestic animals, birds, meat and edible meat by-products, poultry by-products; sugar; vegetable fats. d) Raw leather (including non-standard leather), fur and down raw materials, including karakul raw leather (also non-standard leather); scrap, waste of non-ferrous metals. e) Silkworm cocoons with the possibility of unwinding, raw silk (unspun), silk waste (including cocoons without the possibility of unwinding, silk thread waste and softened waste). f) Defects, trimmings and scrap (waste) of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), as well as biological objects not permitted for export from the republic according to the list established by law.
