Uzbekistan Airways participates in another meeting with participants of the international conference on transport corridors

On September 19, 2018 in the framework of the preparation for the forthcoming international conference named “Central Asia in the System of International Transport Corridors: Strategic Perspectives and Unrealized Opportunities”, the meeting with the Latvian delegation was held at the Directorate of Uzbekistan Airways. Bakhtiyor Khakimov, Director General, Uzbekistan Airways, held talks with Kaspars Ozolins, State Secretary, Ministry of Communications, Latvia.

The meeting noted the high potential of cooperation between the two countries in the transport sector, especially in the logistics sector. The Latvian side expressed its interest in cargo air transportation and readiness for further cooperation in the light of developing trade relations between Uzbekistan and Latvia, as well as resuming the Silk Road and integration into it.

The national airline offered the Latvian side its services for the training of aviation personnel on the basis of its Training Center and presented the Navoi International Intermodal Logistics Center as an object of further partnership. Also, the cooperation on previously performed transit flights via Riga to New York were discussed.

Latvian colleagues thanked the management of the airline for their readiness to share ideas and experience in the development of the partnership and expressed the hope that Uzbekistan Airways will not only increase the frequency of flights to Riga, but also establish air communication with other cities of the Republic of Latvia.
