On the eve of the international conference named “Central Asia in the System of International Transport Corridors: Strategic Perspectives and Unrealized Opportunities” – the first high-level transport forum in the history of Uzbekistan, it would be good to sum up and recall some achievements in the Uzbek civil aviation sector.

The airline is constantly working to strengthen its position in the international air transportation market. Every year the air route network, the sales network of Uzbekistan Airways services and air transportation capacities increase. Over the past year, new destinations have been launched to Dushanbe, Samarkand, Istanbul, flights to Lahore have resumed, flight frequencies to New York, Dubai, Bishkek, Moscow and several other Russian cities have increased.

If last year the airline carried 2.7 million passengers, then this year it is planned to transport over three million passengers. The figures are also growing in terms of cargo transportation, as Uzbekistan Airways cargo liners connect the Navoi International Airport, Uzbekistan, where the International Intermodal Logistics Center is established, with the main hubs and logistics centers of Eurasia. The cargo terminal of the airport, thanks to the use of world-class technologies, is able to cover the entire range of services for the reception, temporary storage and dispatch of goods. Handling of goods on the territory of the terminal is carried out around the clock, customs clearance of export and import cargoes are in accordance with the current customs legislation, which allows to work in the system of international freight cooperation.
