International airport "Bukhara"
On the decision of UNESCO Bukhara was included into the list of world-wide scientific and cultural values.
“Bukhara – i - Sharif”, “Noble Bukhara” – these were the names of the city in the Muslim East from the ancient times. This way the marvelous city, with more than 140 unique monuments of ancient architecture, is being called till now.
Bukhara is a Pearl of the East and it is famous not only for its rich history and architecture monuments, but also for its wide range of choice of hotels and guest houses, designed in national and modern styles. More than 35 hotels, which are situated as in modern part of the city so in the old one, are ready to accept foreign guests. Every side-street in Bukhara has its story, every building is a legend, every monument is unique.
“The International Airport of Bukhara” State Unitary Enterprise was founded in accordance with decision of National Airlines Council and is a structural part of the Company.
In 1999, after complete modernization, the airport has got the status of international. Modern building for passengers has an ability to serve about 150 passengers an hour. Annually, more than 120 000 of passengers use the services of the airport, more than 15 000 of them are foreigners.
International terminal offers the whole complex of services in accordance with all international standards. There are supplied with a modern equipment arrival and departure halls, waiting space, information desk, cafes, shops, medical point, exchange office, booking offices. The design of VIP and CIP halls is made with the elements of the national style.
An absolutely new building was placed in operation in 2011. It’s able to serve about 400 passengers an hour. It has comfortable VIP and CIP halls, halls of arrival and departure, cozy bars, nursery room, medical point, duty free shop.
Information desks and boards, which show the full information about flight rules, check-in process, customs rules, restrictions and demands of the Government, etc, are placed in the airport building.
Many buses run between the airport and historical center of then city. There is a comfortable and spacious parking near the airport.
Every day local flights from Bukhara to Tashkent are carried out in the airport, five times a week – flights to “Domodedovo” airport (Moscow), twice a week to The Saint Petersburg’s “Pulkovo”, once a week to “Vnukovo”, Moscow.
Cargo transportations in any direction are available. Charter programs for passenger and cargo transportations to CIS and other countries are realized as well.
On the results of activity in 2008 the International Airport of Bukhara was declared as the best one among CIS airports, which are members of the Association of airports, in “The Best Airport” nomination.
In 2009 it was rewarded with a document in “Prospective Developing Airport” nomination.
In 2010 the International Airport of Bukhara was declared as the best airport among CIS airports, which are members of the Association of airports, in “The Best Airport” nomination again.
On the results of activity in 2011 the International Airport of Bukhara was rewarded with a document in “Dynamical in Development Airport” nomination.
In 2013, “Bukhara” International Airport was rewarded as “The best airport of CIS countries” on the results of activity in 2012.
According to the resolution “About additional actions on widening of the quality management systems, which conform to international standards, introduction” of Cabinet of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International airport of Bukhara, after fulfilling the special measures of the system introduction, was certificated by “The Russian Register” LLC and the international certificate of quality (ISO 9001:2008) was presented to it.
“Bukhara” International Airport operates with aircrafts of the National Air Company and all types of aircrafts of foreign companies.
