Information for passengers transporting goods that are subject to state veterinary control by State Veterinary Service on arrival to the Republic of Uzbekistan and on departure from it.

This information is prepared on the basis  of the following documents:

- The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “About veterinary science”;

- “Rules of transporting and issuing of veterinary documents for import, export and transit of goods that are subject to state veterinary control by State Veterinary Service.” (Decree № 77 dated 28.12.2012 by the Main State Veterinary Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resource of the Republic of Uzbekistan)

- The Agreement between CIS states “Uniform Rules of State Veterinary Supervision in International and Interstate Transportation of Livestock Freight” (dated 5 November 2003, Kiev). 

Food products

Every passenger on arrival or on departure from the Republic of  Uzbekistan  has the right  to carry food product only for own consumption: food products, such as bread, bakery products, biscuits, confectionery, baked products, meat and dairy products (only in a factory package), fruits, melons.

Unpacked meat and dairy products produced domiciliary, fish and fishing products, eggs, confectionery and baked products are prohibited for carriage.

Domestic pets and fancy birds

When carrying domestic pets and fancy birds the passenger should produce the following documents:

- for dogs and cats – a veterinary passport and the certificate  of a state of health;

- for fancy birds: the veterinary certificate of a state of health.

These documents are issued at the State Veterinary Service at the pet’s owner place of residence.

- the veterinary  certificate for dogs, cats and other unproductive animals (in amount no more than 2 heads) and birds (no more than 10 heads), owned by arriving passengers or departing persons, is issued without  the permission of the Main State Veterinary Inspector of the Republic of Uzbekistan or his deputies. 

- the veterinary  certificate for dogs, cats and other unproductive animals (in amount more than 2 heads) and birds (more than 10 heads), owned by arriving passengers or departing persons, is issued only with  the permission of the Main State Veterinary Inspector of the Republic of Uzbekistan or his deputies. 

- in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 137 dated  March 31, 1998, red-listed animals and plants are only transported with the permission of the State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- import of goods that are subject to  state veterinary control by State Veterinary Service transported from  other states, unsafe in the epizootic relation is prohibited;

- on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “About veterinary science” and subordinate legislation, goods that are subject to  state veterinary control by State Veterinary Service, the owner of which is not able to produce the documents of origin, identifying the proper quality and veterinary and sanitary safety, and also goods which have apparent signs of badness,  with the permission of the Main State Veterinary Inspector, are subject to extermination without examination or to return to the owner without the right to transport the goods to the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Dear passengers!

Please observe these rules at arrival and departure from the Republic of Uzbekistan.

You should produce for official supervision all the goods in your baggage that are subject to state veterinary control by State Veterinary Service.

By this action, you make a contribution to protection from dangerous diseases the territory and the population of our Republic.
