The new hall for the arrival of international airlines at the Tashkent airport named after Islam Karimov
By the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in order to increase the efficiency of the functioning of the infrastructure, increase the capacity of the capital airport and improve the quality of services for passengers, in 2017 was decided to reconstruct the former building of the Local Air Lines to the additional arrival zone of international airlines of «Tashkent» airport.
Based on this order at the international airport "Tashkent" named after Islam Karimov began work on the reconstruction of the old building of the Local Air Lines, the area of which is 9802.36 m2.
Putting into exploitation of a new building with a capacity of 1200 passengers per hour will significantly improve the service of incoming passengers of international destinations and will speed up the process of passing necessary procedures when entering the country.
The new terminal has new engineering and technological equipment, there are "green" and "red corridors", four luggage tapes, 24 passport control points, a visa support point, two currency exchange points, two Duty free shops and two cafe-bars. The time for passage of passport control will be reduced to 7-10 minutes, now this procedure took 15-20 minutes. Thus, incoming guests and citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to complete all formal procedures at the airport in 20-30 minutes.
Recalling that the old building was built in 1997. Its total area initially was 4,798.76 m2. The building was designed for 300 pass / hour and was intended for departure / arrival of passengers of local air lines. After the launch of the new terminal Tashkent-3, in 2012, the building was decommissioned.
Today there are 4 passenger terminals, 2 runways, 101 parking lots for airplanes of different type at the Tashkent airport named after I.Karimov. Flights are carried out for 10 intra-republican and more than 40 international destinations from the capital's air harbor.
