Fly directly to New York on “Dreamliners” of Uzbekistan

On July 27, 2017 the National air company of Uzbekistan performed the first direct flight from Tashkent to New York on aircraft Boeing 787 “Dreamliner”. Today, on July 28, “Dreamliber” of the NAC with 243 passengers on the board landed in the international airport “Tashkent” named after Islam Karimov, successfully executed transatlantic non-stop flight for the first time in the history of the national carrier. Direct flight to New York was carried out by flight crew of the NAC “Uzbekistan Airways” consisting of Deputy Director of Flight Operations Complex S. Kim, chief navigator of air company S. Gurfinkel, chief of flight division “Boeing 787” A. Tursunov and copilots R. Kurganov and O. Uzakov. From New York to Tashkent “Dreamliner” was flied by pilot-in-command P. Margachev, pilot-instructor of flight division “Boeing 787” A. Markin and copilot U. Ishmakhamedov.

It is needed to note that crews of the NAC already had experience of performing the direct flight from New York to Tashkent during ferry flights of “Dreamliners” from manufacturer’s facility to main base. This, undoubtedly, assisted in successful non-stop flight.

Direct flights on modern aircraft “Boeing 787 Dreamliner” on route Tashkent – New York – Tashkent are the new epoch in development of the National air company of Uzbekistan. Exploitation of “Dreamliners” on this route allows the passengers of the NAC «Uzbekistan Airways» to fly to New York with high level of comfort and one hour faster. Duration of direct flight on “Dreamliner” from Tashkent to New York will be equal 12 hours and backwards - 11 hours.

All staff of the air company prepared to this long-awaited event. Pilots of flight division “Boeing 787” have passed preparation on simulator in London and Shanghai and ground preparation in the Training Center of the NAC. Specialists of ground handling services have studied immigration rules and requirements of the USA on entry/exit.

It is necessary to note that after receipt of aircraft “Dreamliner” the fleet of the NAC has become unique. Air company may flexibly use its fleet depending on demand and situation on the market of air transportations and efficiently work both on short and long distance routes.

Pilots of flight division “Boeing 787” of the Flight Operations Complex of the NAC have mastered these principally new aircraft during short time. The «Boeing» Corporation has awarded the NAC by special sign for pilots’ professionalism and high reliability level of aircraft. Absence of cases of flights delay or cancellation due to aircraft malfunction was the reason for this award.

The National air company of Uzbekistan began commercial exploitation of “Dreamliners” in September 2016, the first international flight was performed on September 9, 2016 to Almaty (Kazakhstan). Now flights to Dubai, Delhi, Amristar, Istanbul, Tel-Aviv, Seoul, Frankfurt-am-Main, Moscow, Kuala-Lumpur and Singapore, as well as to New York via Riga are successfully carried out on aircraft “Dreamliner” of the NAC. Air company’s passengers estimated the comfort and high level of service on board of “Dreamliners” at their true worth.

Continuous renewal and modernization of fleet is stated in the plans of air company. The NAC “Uzbekistan Airways” has signed the contract with the «Boeing» Corporation for purchasing another four aircraft Boeing 787 “Dreamliner”; their delivery is expected in 2019.
